Storage & Warehousing

Alianza Global Logistics Services are able to provide a range of both long term and short term warehousing services, depending on your specifications. For cargo that may be re-exported or has not yet been sold, bonded warehousing may be a viable solution. Alianza Global can provide a variety of bonded and non-bonded warehousing solutions near to seaports and airports across the UK.

We have a variety of options available for you to store your cargo. If you need to store your cargo and just take out a few cartons/pallets to deliver to final destination on a bi-weekly basis or if you just wanted storage until you had availability for this to be picked up, we can offer these services to you.

Our cargo warehousing service can complement the transport of your goods across the globe to save costs, or can be provided as a standalone service to meet your requirements.

Customs Warehousing

For cargo that may be re-exported or has not yet been sold, storing your goods in a customs warehouse may be a viable solution.

Our network of sub-contractors have spaces for the storage of goods that may require to be placed under bond, or to be placed in an temporary storage facility warehouse before moving to final destination once customs tax has been paid (or re-exported out of the UK).

Customs Warehouse, also known as a Bonded Warehouse, is a warehouse approved and regulated by HMRC to allow importers who are moving their goods into the UK to store them long term without them entering the UK market. These are kept under CCTV surveillance and lets the importer postpone the payment of the VAT and Duty until the cargo is cleared out of the warehouse. The importer can choose to exit a certain batch of goods from the warehouse when required so they only have to pay a small amount of customs tax instead of having to pay tax on the whole shipment on arrival into the UK, saving money and allowing time if needed to sort out paperwork or advertise the product before they are sold. Goods can be stored in a customs warehouse indefinitely, with the exception of goods under the Common Agricultural Policy such as meat and sugar.

A Temporary Storage Facility is an area approved by HMRC that runs in a similar way to a Customs Warehouse, the difference being that these warehouses are limited to storage of a maximum of 90 days and goods are not allowed to be unpacked until they are customs cleared. There are two main types of temporary storage facilities, ETSF and ITSF.

ITSF (Internal Temporary Storage Facility) is an approved area in the customs controlled area of the seaport/airport, where chargeable goods are kept in temporary storage until they are assigned a treatment or use approved by customs.
There are other types of ITSF, ITSF-R (where they aren’t inside the customs controlled area, though they remain near the city) and ITSF-NFP (where goods are not to be presented to customs).

ETSF (External Temporary Storage Facility, originally ERTS) is an approved area not near an approved UK port, where chargeable goods are kept in temporary storage until they are assigned a treatment or use approved by customs.
A separate type of ETSF is ETSFAD, which is an approved customs warehouse by customs to temporarily store personal/household goods.
